About the regulations
These regulations implement Canada’s international obligations under the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer, including the Kigali Amendment by controlling the export, import, manufacture, and certain uses of ozone-depleting substances and hydrofluorocarbons. These regulations also control the import and manufacture of certain products containing or designed to contain these substances, such as aerosol products, foams and refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
