About the regulations
These regulations improve industry’s capacity to deal with environmental emergencies that may occur at fixed facilities across Canada. They regulate 249 hazardous substances for which there are reporting requirements, as well as environmental emergency planning requirements for higher-risk facilities. There are also reporting requirements in case of environmental emergencies.
