About the regulations

The main objective of the proposed Certain Products Containing Toxic Substances Regulations (the proposed Regulations) is to prohibit the manufacture, import and sale of certain coal tar-based sealant products and certain sealant products containing PAH levels above 1 000 ppm in order to prevent harmful ecological impacts and to help reduce the risk of adverse health impacts resulting from exposure to these toxic substances in Canada.
