Tetrachloroethylene (Use in Dry Cleaning and Reporting Requirements) Regulations (SOR/2003-79)

About the regulations

These regulations apply to the use and sale of tetrachloroethylene (PERC) in the dry cleaning industry and include reporting requirements for the import and recycling of PERC for any purpose. They reduce releases of PERC to the environment by requiring newer, more efficient dry-cleaning machines, minimizing spills of PERC from dry cleaning facilities and managing the collection and disposal of dry cleaning residues and waste water.
