This substance is included in the certain azo disperse dyes release guidelines. The guidelines recommend standard release limits and daily use limits for Disperse Yellow 3 and 25 other azo disperse dyes with molar weights below 360 g/mol from specific textile activities. The release guidelines also recommend best practices that facilities can adopt to limit releases of Disperse Yellow 3 and the other azo disperse dyes to the environment. Additional information: | This substance is on the Domestic Substances List (DSL). The manufacture or import of a substance not on the DSL may be subject to notification under the New Substances Notification Regulations (Chemicals and Polymers) or the New Substances Notification Regulations (Organisms). Following notification, Environment and Climate Change Canada and Health Canada carry out a joint assessment process to determine whether there is a potential for adverse effects on the environment and human health. This substance was added to the DSL as an “Existing Substance” given that it meets the criteria set out in CEPA for substances that were in commerce in Canada between 1984 and 1986. |
